Entertainment for Anglers and Equestrians
The fish are biting here at Froggy’s River Resort.
We have campsites along the Gasconade River, which means you won’t have to go far to find a spot on the gravel bar with your name on it. Bring a chair and stick your feet in. Open your beverage of choice (as long as it’s not in a glass container, of course), throw your line in the water and enjoy the day. And if you start to feel a little too warm, you can always take a swim.
If hanging out on the riverbank isn’t quite what you had in mind, then bring your fishing pole on over to one of our ponds. Froggy’s River Resort has two fully stocked ponds. You’ll find bass, crappie, and catfish in our ponds.
You’d rather fish from a boat, wouldn’t you? So would we. That’s why we have canoes, kayaks, and rafts available for rental. And the Gasconade River has plenty of fish in it to keep you busy. A variety of fish calls our stretch of the Gasconade River home, including bass, goggle-eye (also known as rock bass), channel catfish, golden redhorse and other suckers, and sun perch, of course. Learn more about our boat rental.
Horseback Riding the Trails at Mark Twain National Forest
It’s a beautiful area, and we’re glad to be up next to the Mark Twain National Forest. Trails perfect for horseback riding are beckoning. What are you waiting for?
Just across the Gasconade River from Froggy’s River Resort are trails that will take you through the reserve. You and your trail riders can enjoy the day exploring the Mark Twain National Forest, returning to Froggy’s to eat up and rest up for the next day. We have hitching posts and tie lines available for your use.
And don’t forget to wade through the river on your way back through. There’s something especially endearing about a horse who loves splashing in the water. Until that horse decides to lay down in the water while you’re still in the saddle, then, depending on the weather, his water-loving ways might become a lot less endearing.

Reserve your campsite to give you the best spot for trail riding.
