Floating Down the Gasconade River
“The older I get, the more clearly I remember things that never happened.” — Mark Twain
Make your own memories on a float down the Gasconade River. You can use tubes, rafts, canoes, or kayaks — we have whatever you need here. So all you’ll have to bring is yourself, your beverage of choice (not in a glass container and don’t forget about water!), and snacks.
Raft and tube floating season is Memorial Day to Labor Day (with kayaks and canoes available all year with reservation). So there will be plenty of sun. That means you should probably grab the sunscreen too.
We have two floating options for you. If you’d like to float all day long, then you’ll want to start floating at Froggy’s River Resort. You’ll wind down the river until you come to Gasconade Hills. Don’t worry, there are signs. Get out of the river there, and we’ll be by to pick you up right from the gravel bar.
The other floating option starts at Black Ford and ends at Froggy’s River Resort.
We start picking floaters up from Gasconade Hills at 2pm. There will be a bus there for pick-up every hour. The last load leaves at 6pm.
What’s the floating schedule look like, you ask?
Floating Schedule
6 Mile Float
A 6-mile float will take approximately 6 hours if you float the entire time (no stops for fishing, eating, or bathroom breaks, and no paddling). So make sure you start early enough in the day to make it to Gasconade Hills by 6pm.
We’ll meet you for pick-up on Froggy’s gravel bar. And we’ll pick you up from Gasconade Hills. We haul our tubes, kayaks, canoes, and rafts that our guests have rented, and we can also transport your canoes or kayaks. Check below for pricing.
4 Mile Float
A 4-mile float will take you about 4 hours if you float the whole time. Yes, “float the whole time” means no paddling, but it also means no stopping. For anything. So make sure you start early enough to do all the stopping you want to do.
We’ll be transporting the rafts, tubes, kayaks, or canoes you’ve rented from Froggy’s. We can transport your canoes or kayaks too, if you’d like. Look below for pricing. Meet us in Froggy’s parking lot.

What You Need to Know
Froggy’s River Resort is in Pulaski County right along Route 66. We’re 15 minutes from Ft. Leonard Wood and 10 minutes from Interstate Highway 44. The Mark Twain National Forest butts up to part of Froggy land.
We require all floaters are off the water and at Gasconade Hills or at Froggy’s by 6pm. This is an important rule because if you’re not off the river and at the designated pick-up or stopping spot by that time, we’ll worry something has happened to you.
Floating includes the rental of the vessel, any paddles, lifejackets, and transportation. We can transport your private vessel and offer shuttle services, but there is a fee of $35.
There will be a waiver you’ll need to sign prior to the float. You will be charged for any lost or damaged gear. So treat it kindly.
No pets are allowed in rafts or tubes. Please throw your trash in the bag that is provided.
